Family Values

As a church family, we determined what values we believed needed to be at the core of who we are and what we do.

  • We see ourselves as a house with room to grow the family not only in numbers but for each to reach their full potential as influencers and leaders. We believe everyone is positioned uniquely to influence others and thus we welcome and empower others to be great kingdom influencers regardless of who they are. Like the Prodigal Son, we place on others the insignia of royalty with which to shape their world well.

    ~ Matthew 20:28

  • Grace for all is a free gift from God that embodies forgiveness and unmerited favour. Grace is rooted in mercy, a loving response to our weaknesses, and is supportive in nature. God's grace is a transformative force that brings healing and second chances.

    ~Romans 3:20-24; 2 Corinthians 12:9

  • God’s truth sets us free, leading us to a life defined by honesty, integrity and peace, all firmly anchored in the unshakeable foundation of His Word. We embrace God’s Biblical truth as the blueprint for all our teaching and preaching. Repentance and alignment is our response to this truth—an acceptance of God’s invitation to align with His will and live a holy life.

    ~ John 8:31-32; 2 Timothy 3:16-17

  • Encounters with God take many forms and are deeply personal, often leading to a growing and vibrant relationship with Him that inspires us to live with purpose and devotion. As we follow His guidance, God leads us into a life of praise, expressed through our actions, words, and worship.

    ~ John 10:27 NIV

  • Hilarious generosity is giving with joyful enthusiasm to bless others and advance God’s kingdom. This kind of giving goes beyond placing an envelope in the offering plate on Sunday; it includes offering our time and sharing the unique talents God has entrusted to us. As we like to say around here, it’s our time, talent and treasure.

    ~ 2 Corinthians 9:7

  • Love never fails because it is everlasting and enduring, standing the test of time and circumstances. It calls us to continually love one another, regardless of challenges, and is foundational to our other family values. God IS love.

    ~ 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT

  • Forward motion is always being ready to adapt and respond to God's guidance. It is a spirit of outreach, constantly seeking opportunities to serve and grow. Forward motion embraces a mindset of "go", allowing us to remain open to new directions as God leads us while staying steadfast in Christ.

    ~ Matthew 28:18-20

What We Believe

THE BIBLE

The Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the written revelation of God’s character and saving purposes for humanity and for all creation. As God’s revelation, the entire Bible is true and trustworthy, and is the final and absolute authority for belief and conduct. The Holy Spirit who inspired the Bible enables its interpretation and application

JESUS

Salvation is available to all people by the loving, redemptive act of the triune God. Through obedience to the Father, Christ gave himself as a ransom. Christ, who had no sin, became sin for us offering himself and shedding his blood on the cross so that in him we might become right with God. The life, death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ provide the way of salvation for those who, by God’s grace, repent from their sin and confess faith in Jesus Christ as Lord

GOD

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in the Persons of the Holy Trinity—Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God himself is relationship defined. God is always looking, in a sense to broaden the circle of relationship—this is why he made us. We have an instinctive desire to relate, because we were made in his image and he is always relating with the three person of the Godhead. Community finds its origin in God.

SPIRIT BAPTISM

We believe that the Holy Spirit is present today advancing good and restraining evil. We affirm that the Holy Spirit gives himself to every follower of Christ and disperses his gifts along with his presence to those who choose to follow Jesus. We believe that He empowers His people for service and to be witnesses through the Baptism in the Holy Spirit as described in Acts 2.
God created and sustains the heavens and the earth, which display God’s glory. Formed in the image of God, both male and female, humankind is entrusted with the care of God’s creation as faithful stewards. As a result of human rebellion, sin and death entered the world, distorting the image of God and all of God’s good creation. Angels were created as supernatural beings to worship and serve God. Along with Satan, some angels chose to rebel and oppose the purposes of God. Christ gives believers victory over Satan and these demons.

CREATION

Jesus Christ is the head of the church. All who are united with Christ are joined by the Spirit to his body. Each local church is an expression of the universal church whose role is to participate in the mission of God to restore all things. Central to the church is the shared experience of the transforming presence of God. The church responds with worship, prayer, proclamation, discipleship, and fellowship, including the practices of water baptism and the Lord’s

THE CHURCH

We believe in life beyond this world which is described in the Bible as paradise or heaven. We also believe in a place of eternal death described in the Bible as hell. Our purpose is to pray, plan and program so that heaven will become real on earth and that people would be adequately prepared to enter our Lord’s heaven and avoid a life of separation from the absolute source of goodness and love. The Bible teaches that we have ‘eternity in our hearts’. Eternal life starts now, when the believer chooses to follow Christ personally. It will be fully realized in the life to come.

ETERNAL LIFE

We believe in Christ’s leadership of the Church, the celebration of Christian baptism by immersion for believers. We believe that the ‘next step’ for people who have chosen to follow Christ personally is to be baptized in water. Baptism is ultimately an act of public identification with Jesus—in his death and resurrection. We encourage every believer in Jesus to be baptized in water.

WATER BAPTISM

SALVATION

We believe in the virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ, His deity, His sinless humanity and His perfect life. We also believe in the eternal all-sufficiency of His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father’s right hand, and His personal coming again at His second Advent. We believe that justification is a judicial act of God on the believer’s behalf, based entirely on the merits of Christ. We believe that people are made spiritually alive by the power of the Holy Spirit as we place our saving faith in Jesus. Salvation is a free gift of God (grace) and we add nothing to his saving work except to receive with a heart of gratitude. The rest of our lives look different because of our deeply rooted gratitude for the one who rescued us and paid the penalty of our sin. Our acts of goodness flow not in the direction of ‘earning’ our salvation, but they flow out of our heart of deep gratitude to the God who rescued us from our sins.
